MagickWand for Ruby

Welcome to MagickWand for Ruby!

MagickWand for Ruby is an interface between the Ruby programming language and the ImageMagick image processing library. You can use MagickWand for Ruby to read and convert image files in over 100 formats, create image thumbnails, enhance photographs, and transform and add special effects to images.

MagickWand for Ruby is in beta. This documentation describes 0.2.0, the current release.

Features

MagickWand for Ruby features a modern and streamlined API that includes only the methods that most people need. Optional arguments are specified by a hash. MagickWand for Ruby objects are managed by Ruby just like any other objects. You don’t have to worry about garbage collection!

Prerequisites

MagickWand for Ruby works with Ruby 1.8.6, 1.8.7, and 1.9.1. MagickWand for Ruby requires ImageMagick 6.5.0 or later.

MagickWand for Ruby works on Linux, BSD variants, and other *nix-type systems. Currently MagickWand for Ruby is not available for Microsoft Windows.
